Day One - Our first destination is the Comfort Suites, for one nite, in Port Wentworth, GA, which is near Savannah, GA. This hotel offers plenty of amenities including an indoor, heated pool, hot tub and exercise room. This all-suite hotel provides spacious rooms with amenities like refrigerators, microwaves, irons, ironing boards, hair dryers, coffee makers and flat-screen televisions featuring premium cable channels. You will find many restaurant choices nearby for your evening meal. Our hotel also provides a complimentary Savory Starts Breakfast with oatmeal, cereal, toast, assorted pastries, muffins, fresh fruit, sausage gravy, eggs and much more.

Day Two, Three & Four - Today we travel to historic Fredericksburg, VA where we will stay three nites at the Sleep Inn with deluxe continental breakfast included each morning. After a good nite's rest our professional, historically costumed step-on guide will meet us at our hotel. On our way in to Washington, D.C. we will take a riding tour of colonial Fredericksburg viewing downtown sites of interest such as the Mary Washington House, Rising Sun Tavern, Hugh Mercer Apothecary and many others, then, on to Washington! We will view the U.S. Pentagon Military Headquarters. Our first stop will be at the Iwo Jima Marine Memorial. We will then go through the Rock Creek Parkway to view the magnificent Washington National Cathedral, then down through Embassy Row, past the Naval Observatory and the Vice President's home. Our tour continues with a photo opportunity of the White House and the Blair Guest House at Lafayette Park. Then we will drive down historic Pennsylvania Avenue, also known as the Inaugural Parade route, towards the Capitol, for another photo opportunity. We will have lunch today at the rooftop terrace of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, cafeteria style (on your own). After lunch, we will visit the FDR Memorial Park, where we will walk through the park to visit the Jefferson Memorial located on the other side of the Tidal Basin. At the Jefferson Memorial we will reboard our motorcoach for the ride to Arlington National Cemetery, across Memorial Bridge. At this famous cemetery we will see the Kennedy gravesites and the solemn changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknowns. We then return to our hotel for the night, for tomorrow is another full day!

Our second day of touring this historic area of our nation will begin with a tour of old town Alexandria. Here, we will see the historic homes and businesses from the colonial period. Then, on to George Washington's homestead and farm, Mt. Vernon. We will have an included lunch at the Mt. Vernon Inn. After lunch, we will return to Washington, D.C. to visit the Smithsonian museums: Air and Space, Natural History and American History. I would recommend spending your time in the museum of most interest to you, as there is much to see. After our time at the Smithsonian, we will have a delicious seafood buffet dinner (included) on the historic Potomac River at Philips Flagship Restaurant. After our dinner we will take in some of Washington's sites that are best viewed in the evening. First we will see the World War II Memorial with it's spectacular fountains. Then, we will see the Korean War Veterans Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial. Our tour this evening will conclude with a procession next to the Vietnam Veterans Wall and it's Memorials. After our stirring tour this evening, we return to our hotel in Fredericksburg for our last nite before heading south and toward home.

Day Five - Today we return for one nite at the Comfort Suites in Port Wentworth with all amenities as mentioned in Day One.

Day Six - Our historic tour of Washington D.C. winds down today as we return to St. Petersburg. We hope you found fun, adventure, and enjoyed our living history. Thank you for choosing Travel Is Fun!
